We founded House of Red & White to assist winemakers who are fiercely ambitious about top-quality wine and exporting it to share with the wider world. Our first online magazine, Discover Turkish Wines – the first of our ‘Discover’-series – represents the first global platform for news about Turkish winemaking.
Award-winning journalist, Ozdemir has worked in publishing for more than 20 years, which is why her nickname is PR Goddess. Her passion for niche wines stems from her love of her birthplace Turkey and its culinary history. She has dedicated herself to spreading word of high quality wines from the area where once winemaking all started.
Brent Cole fell in love with Eastern Europe and Turkey, while teaching at a business school in Kiev, Ukraine. Cole believes the US can flourish by investing in this area and likewise by attracting companies from these countries to invest in Texas.
Although his first love was product design, Hoppenbrouwers today feels lucky to work with the digital branding agency DutchGiraffe, a media partner with House of Red & White. On a daily basis his agency works hard to produce online solutions that exceed today’s highest standards for digital content and design.
Roland Kooiker was truly amazed by the quality of Turkish and Moldovan wines. As a senior financial executive he travels for his work all around the world. With his passion for combining finance and business Kooiker is experienced in bringing young companies to a professional state of maturity. He is convinced that integrity and clarity are the bases for a solid and successful business network.
Based in Amsterdam, Canan Marasligil works for international magazines with a strong focus on contemporary literature. Interested in storytelling and culture, she believes food has a very important part to play in sharing stories. Writing for the ‘Discover’-series gives her the opportunity to expand her own horizon on culinary field.
Vonal’s wine journey started in 2013 with House of Red & White. Eventhough her background is in business operation management, Daphne’s love for wine and beverages made her quickly adopt to marketing and social media practices. Polish/Turkish Daphne is responsible for developing marketing campaigns across all social media platforms with a keen focus on introducing fine niche wines to the world.
With contributions to articles in the New York Times’ Opinionator, McClatchey-Tribune, and Star-Telegram, Emily Boyd, more than anything else in the world, loves to travel. Her passion for wine is that with each glass, you’ll find a mix of tastes and sensations that give you a glimpse into the world from which that wine came from. Emily thinks wine is perhaps the easiest and most rewarding way to experience the world.
Jordan Maney is a freelance journalist with a degree in multimedia from the University of Texas. Maney’s developing expertise is in the food and hospitality sectors: She is blogger for Granberry Hills Wedding Venue, and founder of Mimi Red’s Hospitality & Food Blog.
A graduate from the University of Texas at Austin, Michelle Inigo is now an editor based in South Korea where she teaches conversational English to children in South Korea. Inigo’s dedication to travel and pursuit of a good glass of wine inspire her to convey the history of the Mediterranean and its largely undiscovered wines.
